Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
Students continued learning to compare and contrast children in the past with children in the present. We made many Venn diagrams to show what we’ve learned. We also worked with the letter Kk, and /sl/blends. Our spelling words are: led, bad, kiss, Kit, jam, Kim
Math
We finished our unit about bigger numbers and are beginning a new unit about building shapes. This unit will help to reinforce counting concepts as they build with and consider the attributes of pattern blocks.
Writing
We wrote 3 things that we know about people, animals, or activities.
Social Studies
We learned about responsibility and why people do not have the right to do whatever they want. People have to think about the rights and safety of other people.
Science: Animal Needs
In this unit, students use observations to understand the basic needs of animals. Students explore how animals need things to eat and a safe place to live, and also how animals can change their environments to meet those needs.
P2: Humility
True humility is a sign of strength; it is a quiet confidence in who you are. It requires an honest self-reflection on your strengths and weaknesses, and self-control over ego, arrogance, and vanity.
JA: We finished 3 lessons this week about making choices with money and that money is something we must earn.
Sarett Nature Center: We will be leaving Lincoln at 9am and will arrive at Sarett shortly after. Our program begins at 9:30. You are welcome to meet us at the nature center if you were not assigned to this trip. Remember that adults will have to pay the field trip fee of $3. We have already paid for all students.
Reminders:
Please remember to leave all toys, watches, gadgets and special jewelry at home. Thank you!
