Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
We learned to ask ourselves questions to find the Main idea and details of each chapter of a nonfiction book called Rules At Home. We completed several graphic organizers and made a poster to teach others about what we learned from the book.
Math
We practiced making and describing groups that have more, fewer, and the same number of objects. Recognizing quantities represented by fingers was also a focus of this week’s math lessons. Manipulating counters, pattern blocks, and other collections to make groups made our learning fun and hands-on.
Writing
We worked on capitalizing the word “I” and adding ending marks to our sentences. We also practiced using the sight words “my” and “a” in sentences.
Social Studies
The kindergarteners explored their role as students. They learned that classrooms have regions and that all schools have similarities and differences.
Science
Seasonal patterns was what we learned about this week. We worked in teams and put the seasons in order and learned how they start over again as each new year begins.
P2
Creativity: It takes courage to find new ways to do things. But it makes the world a more unique and beautiful place.
