Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
We learned to make inferences within a story which then helped the students make predictions. We read “Bear’s Lunch” and made predictions about what the bear would do next based on the clues & evidence we found in the text. We also worked with the letter Dd and our spelling words are: bag, pen, dig, had, red, did
Math
Students used their fingers, ten-frames, and connecting cubes to find the missing number needed to make 10. We also told number stories based on various numbers of fruits.
Writing
Students wrote letters to their families this week. We will send them home next week.

Wild Weather: This week your child heard a story about a little boy who watched a thunderstorm with his grandpa from the front porch of his house. Just before the storm, the little boy noticed that the wind was making the tree branches move!
It’s important to watch for changes in wind direction. Sometimes a change in wind direction indicates that the weather is about to change!
P2: Teamwork
Being a part of a team often means deferring or delaying individual accomplishments in order to ensure that the group maintains a high level of success. The positive feelings associated with being part of a larger whole can help us become less self-centered.
